Art & Craft Course: Unleash The Imagination

Where Creativity Meets Character

At The Sekar School, our Art & Craft program is designed to be more than just a hobby. It is a journey of self-expression, fine motor skill development, and creative problem-solving. We believe that every child is an artist, and our role is to provide the right tools and guidance for their unique brilliance to blossom.

To ensure every student receives the attention and challenge they need, we divide our program into three distinct levels based on age and skill:

1. Little Creator (Beginner / Ages 4-7)

Focus: Discovery & Sensory Play In this foundational stage, we focus on the joy of creation.

  • What they learn: Exploration of textures, basic color mixing, and safe tool handling (scissors, glue, brushes).
  • The Goal: To develop fine motor skills and build confidence through sensory-rich activities like finger painting, clay molding, and basic paper crafts.

2. Young Artist (Intermediate / Ages 8-11)

Focus: Technique & Expression As children grow, so does their ability to focus on detail. In this class, students begin to transition from play to purposeful art-making.

  • What they learn: Introduction to sketching, watercolor techniques, 3D structure building, and recycled art projects.
  • The Goal: To encourage students to tell their own stories through their work and understand the basic principles of design and composition.

3. Art Mastery (Advanced / Ages 12+/adult)

Focus: Skill Refinement & Personal Style Our senior level is for students ready to dive deeper into specialized art forms and develop a portfolio of work they are proud of.

  • What they learn: Advanced painting (acrylics/oil), perspective drawing, mixed media, and complex craft engineering.
  • The Goal: To cultivate a signature style. We focus on “Mastery”—challenging students to execute complex projects from concept to finished masterpiece.

Why Choose Our Art Program?

  • Stress-Free Environment: Just like our English courses, our art classes are designed to be a “safe space” where there are no mistakes, only unique iterations of beauty.
  • Inclusive Approach: In line with Fostering Equality, we provide high-quality materials for all students, ensuring that financial background is never a barrier to artistic excellence.
  • Exhibition Opportunities: We regularly showcase our students’ work in school galleries to celebrate their progress and “Cultivate Brilliance” in the eyes of the community.
